Terms of service

This document has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It was drafted from what the Plainn software actually does, and it is accurate as a description of the system. It is published so the product has a policy to point at; it should be reviewed before it is relied on.
The agreement
These terms are between Plainn and the business that registers an account. By using the software, the business accepts them.
Accounts
An account belongs to one business.
The account owner is responsible for the staff accounts they create. Staff are invited by email and choose their own passwords — nobody else, including the account owner, sets a password for them.
Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are billed per store. Devices beyond the plan's allowance are charged per device.
A business needs a valid subscription — active, and not past its end date — to create a store.
If you cancel, the subscription keeps working for what it already paid for, until the end of its term.
Prices may change. A price change applies from your next billing period, not the current one.
Refunds
We do not automatically refund the unused part of a billing period. If you believe you are owed a refund, contact us.
Your data
The business owns the data it puts into Plainn. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for our own purposes. See our privacy policy for how it is handled.
Availability
Plainn is offline-first: the till keeps working without a connection. Sync, reports and subscription management need the server. We do not offer an uptime guarantee.
Acceptable use
You may not resell the software, attempt to access another business's data, or make automated bulk requests against the API.
Ending the agreement
Either side may end this agreement. What happens to your data afterwards is described in the privacy policy's section on keeping and deleting data.
Liability and governing law
Our liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid us.
These terms are governed by the law of Nigeria.
